Hi, thanks for visiting! I'm Ruifeng Yu, a second-year PhD student in the LIT (Language, Intelligence, and Thought) Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology, advised by Dr. Anya Ivanova.

As a researcher in the field of cognitive neuroscience, I am interested in how people vary in their subjective experience of thinking, and how these individual differences shape behavior and brain function. My current work focuses on inner language: how much people rely on inner langauge when they think, how the sensory qualities of that inner language differ across individuals, and what the neural correlates of these differences look like. To investigate these questions, I use fMRI, behavioral experiments, and self-report measures.

Outside of research, I run a neuroscience communication channel where I share findings from cognitive and brain science with a broader audience. I genuinely enjoy exchanging ideas across disciplines, so feel free to reach out!
